I have developed with Visual Studio.NET on the same PC for around 9 months now. I upgraded from VS.NET 2002 to VS.NET 2003 about 3 months ago no problems and since then I have continued coding, compiling and releasing mostly ASP.NET and Windows Forms applications. Visual Studio for Mac is a fully featured native development environment designed for building cross-platform applications with Xamarin and.NET Core on macOS. The IDE enables productivity through a rich set of features and tools, combined with powerful customizations that allow developers to. I have downloaded the visual studio for Mac preview. And in the asp project I couldn't found the element inside the toolbox and nothing to download also. What's going wrong? The query posted by you has not reached the right forum. Hi B.0903, Welcome to the MSDN. ![]() My workstation is Windows XP Sp1 with all the latest critical security patches/upgrades installed from Windows Update. This week I noticed that the VS.NET ToolBox with the standard components on it (textbox, label etc.) was disabled - that is all the items on it are greyed out and cannot be dragged onto the designer for a windows form. This is the same with all the 'tabs' on the ToolBox, no matter what application is open, and whatever state (designer/code/html) it is in, including ASP.NET applications, and in all of my old applications as well as new ones. I use Visual SourceSafe as well - version 6.0d, but files are checked out and writeable when I am editing them. I have tried running the visual studio.NET setup CD in repair mode, and also reinstalling.NET Framework SP2 out of desperation - does anyone know what on earth this could be? What might I install to fix the problem? Or is it likely to be a corruption that requires a complete uninstall/reboot/reinstall (this will take a full day on my PC - it's not slow but the installation script is VERY slow!) Development has been put on hold for a while. OK I figured it out - pretty stupid of me really: I have no idea why (don't remember doing this myself) but every one of the components in the add/remove items dialog of the toolbar was unchecked. I didn't notice there was a problem because no components were selected here, yet they still appeared in the toolbar but were disabled. I would have expected them to disappear from the toolbar if they were 'removed' - i.e. All I needed to do was click the reset button.DOH! Sorry if I wasted anyone's time! ![]() I was working with Xamarin Visual studio and suddenly I just deleted some of the controls from Visual Studio toolbox pane in android designer. I tried adding them using (right click on toolbox/choose items), but I don't know where the assembly of the controls live. Does anyone know how to add the controls back?| asked Apr 9 '15 at 7:27 991 9 24 you didn't say what version of studio and xamarin. For older versions, eg VS2005 it seems like one should reinstall studio. That might work for you and might not be too troublesome? (I've never gotten a bounty so was browsing for fun:)) – Apr 11 '15 at 17:16 You Should restore your VS settings to default, you can do it by clicking tools in menu then Import and Export Settings. On the Import and Export Settings Wizard page, click Reset all settings and click Next. If you want to save your current settings, click Yes, save my current settings, specify a file name, click Next. OR If you want to delete your current settings, choose No, just reset settings, overwriting my current settings, and click Next. This option does not delete default settings, which will still be available the next time you use the wizard. Click Finish. I hope it helps you – Apr 13 '15 at 9:50| 4 Answers 4 simple fix Deleting the *.tbd in the following dir on Windows worked for me. C: Users[Current user] AppData Local Microsoft VisualStudio version of visaul studio sometimes file is hidden You can also go into the folder 'C: Documents and Settings Local Settings Application Data Microsoft VisualStudio version of visual studio' Recommend: sual Studio using Xamarin. After a few hours of googling I still haven't found how to setup VS2015 for Android. The only tutorial provided on the official Xamarin page is on how to link your PC with a Mac to build iOS Apps. No matter, what and delete the *.tbd files. I have had to do this a couple times to get rid of duplicate items and when Reset Toolbox crashes without warning.| answered Apr 15 '15 at 11:48 1,187 9 31| Also you have to have the latest Android SDK installed.
