Apple has recently takent the next step in their 2010 decision to stop developing their own flavor of Java Runtime. A recent system update for OS X Lion (10.7). Java Runtime Environment for Mac (JRE for Mac) allows you to play online games, chat with people around the world, calculate your mortgage interest, and view images in 3D, just to name a few. It's also integral to the intranet applications and other e-business solutions that are the foundation of corporate computing. The Java Runtime Environment for Mac (JRE) provides the libraries, the Java Virtual Machine, and other components to run applets and applications written in the Java programming language. In addition, two key deployment technologies are part of the JRE: Java Plug-in, which enables applets to run in popular browsers; and Java Web Start, which deploys standalone applications over a network. Many cross platform applications also require Java to operate properly. Note: Requires 64-bit web browser. Audio editing softwares for mac. Administrator privileges for installation. Also Available. It's just so annoying i couldn't take anymore if it! It makes me want to break my laptop ( serious ), i'm working on my mac laptop and i get this annoying pop-up software message every 5 seconds saying 'To open this Java application, you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not. It's just so annoying i couldn't take anymore if it! It makes me want to break my laptop ( serious ), i'm working on my mac laptop and i get this annoying pop-up software message every 5 seconds saying 'To open this Java application, you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.' If it's not that, it will tell me to update and when it searches it tells me there was no java software found for my current OS. I'm running on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, as i heard it doesnt support Java, so why am i getting this annoying message?:S It's really getting on my nerves, can someone PLEASE provide a solution? 1) Can i disable this annoying pop-up? I tried disabling auto updates from the system preferences but it just keeps coming 2) is there a way i can get Java for mac os 10.7? Here's a link to the message i get, http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/4738/screenshot20110610at901.png. Best Answer: Mac OS X 10.7 isn't out yet, which means either you're a developer and should know better than to run an unfinished OS as your system or you pirated the operating system in which case it's your own fault. You're getting the pop-up because one of the programs you have installed that runs in the background uses Java. But because OS X 10.7 isn't actually out yet, Apple folded their Java runtime code into the OpenJDK project but they haven't released binaries yet. I suppose you can download the source and build it yourself (if you know how) but it might not have been fully tested on Lion yet. Vista is a comedian tale; far too many issues it! I'm very aggravated because of the fact I paid lots money for a a million/2-baked product. I offered a MacBook a pair of weeks in the past, upgraded to Leopard some days in the past and that i easily like it! I used to think of Mac customers have been merely BS'ing while they mentioned Macs 'merely artwork', besides the shown fact that it relatively is genuine. I've got used abode windows all my life yet i'm happy i've got finally considered the sunshine. OS X is the destiny; i'm going to easily use vista at artwork because of the fact I have not any determination. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed.
